イングランド、カンファレンス・ナショナル（Conference National）に所属するエブスフリート・ユナイテッド（Ebbsfleet United F.C.）に裕福な後援者はいません
しかし土曜の午後になると世界中の沢山の人が試合の行方に注目します
エブスフリートには３万人近いオーナーがいるのです
会員はマイフットボールクラブという名のサイトのメンバーです
このサイトの主催者ティム・グウィン・ジョーンズです

「丁度１年前の２００７年４月、サッカーチーム買収計画に関心がある人を募集するサイトを作りました。数千人の人を集めて彼らから毎年３５ポンドずつ集めるというものです。会員になると選手選びも含むクラブの運営全てに発言権を持てます。あっと言う間に５万人程の人から問い合わせがきました。そこでメールで出資金を集めました。すると３万人程の人が実際に出資金を出してくれたんです。ですから３万人の会員によって共同所有されているんです」
マイフットボールクラブが選んだのはロンドン郊外に位置する過去に目立った成功も無い弱小クラブでした

「エブスフリートはカンファレンス・ナショナルに所属するプロクラブです。ブルース・スクウェア・プレミア（Blue Square Premier）に所属していますからイギリス全土でプレーします。フットボールリーグ（Football League Two）からはディヴィジョンが一つ下になるだけです。選手層は決して厚くはありませんが好調です。でもさらに上に行く為には財政的援助が必要なんです」
オーナーはサイバースペースですから、コンピューターゲームの様にスタメン選びもインターネット上で行うという案もありました

「私も選手もアシスタントもスタッフも皆３万人の会員による共同所有という事実は真剣に捉えています。勿論リーグ優勝する様なクラブの監督であったら、この様な事に二の足を踏むかもしれませんね。でも現時点では何の問題もありません」

「試合の裏の部分には絶対に手を出さないと皆誓約しています。それに現段階では会員の大多数が心からクラブの成功の事だけを考えています。誰もこれをコンピューターゲームだとは思っていません。勿論かなりのメンバーが面白半分で参加している事は認めます。実際面白いしエキサイティングです。でもいい加減な気持ちで参加している人はいませんよ」
今シーズン、エブスフリートはカンファレンスでは１０位でフィニッシュし、イングランドのノンリーグクラブを対象に行われるＦＡトロフィ（FA Trophy）で決勝進出を果たしました
大勢のオーナーがウェンブリースタジアムにやってくるでしょう

「今シーズンの平均入場者は大体１０００人位ですが、ウェンブリーでの決勝戦の観戦チケットは２万５千人売れています。この機会に新たなファンを獲得したいですね。ファンの数をもっともっと増やしていきたいと思っています。試合を見てもらえばエブスフリートがいかに素晴らしいチームかは分かってもらえるはずです」
４万人を越えるファンがやってきました
クラブ史上初となるナショナルファイナル
対戦相手はトーキー・ユナイテッド（Torquay United F.C.）です
前半終了直前にエブスフリートにチャンスがやってきます
ルーク・ムーア（Luke Moore）がペナルティエリア内でトーキーのゴールキーパー、マーティン・ライス（Martin Rice）に倒されました
しかしクリス・マクフィー（Chris McPhee）のペナルティキックはライスに止められます
マクフィーとエブスフリートサポーターはガッカリ
しかしマクフィーはＰＫの失敗を帳消しにします
ジョン・アキンデ（John Akinde）のクロスに合わせ、古巣トーキーのゴールネットを揺らしました
そしてこれが決勝ゴールでした
エブスフリートにとっても世界中にいるオーナーにとっても初のナショナルタイトルです
コンピューターゲームよりも断然面白かったでしょう

POSITION: Striker
APPS/GOALS: 43 (+34)/8oung and promising striker who graduated from the Fleet's PASE youth team and reserves. Made his Conference debut in 2005 at the age of just 17, but with Liam Daish's backing began to feature more prominently in 2005-06, initially as a regular substitute.
Skilful and a handful for defences, Moore looked much stronger and more at home in the Conference throughout 2006-07, netting seven goals. Has also looked effective playing as an attacking midfielder and has played in both midfield and up front in 2007-08. Luke recorded his 100th game for the club in December 2007.

APPS/GOALS: 0/0A striker who began his career as a trainee at Brighton in 1999, he made his league debut at only 16 years of age at Swansea City. Established himself in the Brighton first team in 2003, the Eastbourne-born striker went on to make more than 60 appearances for the Sussex club.
Had a period on loan at Aldershot in 2005 and Swindon in 2006, for whom he was expected to sign but after that fell through, he moved to Torquay in the summer of 2006. Spent a season at Plainmoor, and was offered a new contract by the Devon club, but he chose to look elsewhere and, following a trial at the Fleet, he put pen to paper on a deal in August 2007.
Chris is an extremely versatile player who, despite being signed as a striker, has played right back, right midfield and centre midfield for the Fleet and shone in all positions.

APPS/GOALS: 0/0John is a product of the club's Conference Youth League squad and progressed into first-team contention with a number of decent showings in Kent Senior Cup games. An 18-year-old striker, he is a strong and promising youngster. An eye for goal, added to a turn of pace and ability to outmuscle even those defenders with a lot more experience than himself, make him a superb prospect for the future.
Having played on loan for Margate and Whistable Town, he was recalled to the Fleet and made a strong start to his career, scoring four goals in four games. As a result, the club offered him a contract which takes him to the end of the 2008-09 season.

Martin is a highly regarded young goalkeeper who joined Torquay in the summer of 2007 having made the move from local rivals Exeter City following 4 seasons at St James Park.
Making his Grecians debut at the age of 17, Martin made a total of 9 first team appearances before reaching his 18th birthday, and went on to establish himself as Exeter's first choice goalkeeper for the majority of last season although he was cruelly dropped for the Conference play-off final at Wembley having played in both legs of the semi-final against Oxford.
Despite being relatively short for a goalkeeper, Martin is respected as a great shot stopper who will be looking to challenge Simon Rayner for the starting position between the sticks during the coming season.
